A major glitch in Microsoft Corp.’s cloud services has caused flight cancellations and delays across the world, including India, on Friday. Due to this disruption, operations of airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Airlines, and SpiceJet have been affected at the Delhi and Mumbai airports. Read on to know more.

Online Services Down For IndiGo, Akasa & SpiceJet

A major issue in Microsoft’s cloud services has affected aviation operations across the world. In India, it has impacted the services of airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Airlines, and SpiceJet at the Delhi and Mumbai airports. According to SpiceJet’s announcement on X (formerly Twitter), online services like booking, check-in, and manage booking functionalities have been affected due to the cloud glitch.

Akasa Airlines also took to X (formerly Twitter) to update its travellers about Microsoft’s technical glitch. As per their tweet, “Due to infrastructure issues with our service provider, some of our online services, including booking, check-in and manage booking services will be temporarily unavailable.”

IndiGo also asked its passengers to remain calm during this issue. They posted on X, “Our systems are currently impacted by a Microsoft outage, which is also affecting other companies. During this time booking, check-in, access to your boarding pass, and some flights may be impacted. We appreciate your patience.”

Microsoft Tech Glitch Affects Flight Operations Across The Globe

Not just in India, it looks like Microsoft’s technical glitch is causing issues all over the world! As per a Wales Online report, global airlines like United, Delta and American Airlines have issued a “global ground stop” on all of their flights. No further flights will take off for now.

Furthermore, airlines Frontier, Allegiant, and SunCountry have grounded flights overnight. Much like Mumbai and Delhi airports, Berlin Airport has also reported technical problems for delaying flights.

This online outrage has disrupted flight operations and has left passengers stranded at the airports. If you’re travelling with any of these airlines, please make sure to check updates before planning your travel. We hope the issue is resolved soon and the flights are resumed soon!
