GCC Updates
1. Mid-Day Break Implemented In The UAE
As revealed recently, the UAE authorities have announced that mid-day break will be implemented in the country. This will begin on June 15 and will go on till September 15. This break is implemented for the 21st year in a row, and it prohibits working under direct sunlight or in open spaces. The timings will be between 12:30 PM and 3 PM.
2. Shop Owners Banned From Selling Zamzam Water In Sharjah
Shop owners have been banned from selling Zamzam water in Sharjah. This was announced by the Sharjah City Municipality, which bars all commercial establishments, no matter what their business activity, from trading, selling, or even displaying the Zamzam water. This has been done to reduce the cases of fraud that play with the religious sentiment of people.
3. Free Parking Announced In Dubai And Sharjah

Dubai RTA has announced free parking from June 5 to 8. This excludes the multi-level parking terminals, which will continue to remain paid. Sharjah also announced three days of free public parking for the occasion of Eid al-Adha. This will be available from June 6 to June 8. However, this exemption of parking fees will not apply to 7-day paid parking zones.
4. Naqi App Launched In Oman For Real-Time Air Pollution Updates
Recently, Oman launched the Naqi App, which offers real-time air pollution updates. It offers an interactive map that displays real-time air quality indicators, and it is based on the geographic location of the user.

With the aim of establishing a strategic framework for the expansion of existing reciprocal interline cooperation, Emirates and Air China have now entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. This happened on the sidelines of the 81st Annual General Meeting and World Transport Summit, which happened in New Delhi. Together, the airlines will develop a framework for cooperation across their cargo operations and even respective frequent-flyer programmes.
