UAE setting records is not something new, and this is exactly what is happening in Abu Dhabi. Yes, it has managed to set a new world record for underwater marine clean-up, in which 300 divers took part. Here’s all you need to know about this fantastic initiative that also managed to set a great record. Basically, they managed to make a mark in the Guinness World Record for bringing together the most divers in an underwater clean-up at multiple locations.
Abu Dhabi Sets New World Record With Underwater Cleanup
Called ‘Beneath the Blue – Underwater Cleanup,’ this is an initiative supported by the authority of social contributions, Ma’an. As it happens, Abu Dhabi managed to set a new world record by bringing together 300 divers. In its report of Gulf News, it was mentioned on November 8th, more than 300 licensed volunteer divers took part in this record-breaking event. The event was organised across two sites in Abu Dhabi. The divers worked in perfect coordination for 15 minutes in a synchronised mission.
Where Did This Take Place?
The sites where this event took place were Fishermen Sea Port in Al Taweelah and The Cove in Abu Dhabi. Encouraging environmental responsibility and inspiring the community, the aim of the authority is to support social responsibility. Additionally, volunteers from different backgrounds had come together for this cause.

300 Volunteer Divers Participated In This Event
So the divers successfully collected over one ton of marine debris. This massive achievement highlighted the power of teamwork and the community’s shared commitment towards protecting the environment. All participants attended detailed safety and environmental training sessions before the cleanup. These trainings were held by certified dive instructors and environmental experts. The Gulf News report also mentioned how the briefings ensured that the record attempt followed the highest safety and sustainability standards.
This project also reflects the importance of collective action when it comes to protecting the marine ecosystem. So, it’s not wrong to say that when people come together for a common cause, teamwork will ensure that working towards a shared goal is quite easy!
