Yas Mall by Aldar has reached a significant milestone. Yes, this has become the first mall in the region to meet the requirements of the Global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Programme. Located in Abu Dhabi, it ensures that People of Determination visitors who have non-visible needs can receive additional support in case they require it. Here’s all you need to know about the fantastic development coming from the emirate.
Yas Mall Joins Global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Programme
Reflecting a strategic collaboration between Aldar, Topland, and Zayed Authority for People of Determination, Yas Mall has become the first mall for meeting Global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Programme in the region. As revealed in a report of the Abu Dhabi Media Office, it is being led by the Zayed Authority for People of Determination locally. It brings the globally recognised initiative to the mall.
It should be noted that the hidden disabilities sunflower programme has been implemented across the customer experience operations. With the customers facing staff training for identifying them with a lanyard, it enhances service protocols so that necessary support can be offered to customers.
This Includes Comprehensive Staff Training
This programme requires meeting established international criteria. This includes comprehensive staff training and full operational integration. Not to mention, it also ensures a consistent and inclusive experience for all. This achievement of the mall shows how accessibility can be embedded into operations, customer engagement and training.
It helps them deliver meaningful and lasting community impact for communities. Aldar has commissioned 10,000 sunflower lanyards as a part of this commitment. These are produced by People of Determination who are enrolled at the Zayed Authority for People of Determination’s printing workshop. It would be introduced across its destinations, which would support long-term integration of accessibility.
