Asia Cup UAE: AED 11K Worth Fake Tickets Sold For Ind-Pak Clash, Here’s How To Avoid The Scam!

Cricket fans in the UAE are buzzing about the upcoming India vs Pakistan match, but there’s trouble brewing off the pitch. With official tickets still not on sale, scammers have swooped in, flooding shady websites with overpriced or fake tickets for the Ind-Pak clash. The game, set for September 14, is already one of the most hyped group-stage clashes, and the buzz is making fans an easy target.

During the last India-Pakistan face-off in the UAE, fans queued for hours, only to walk away empty-handed when tickets sold out early. This time, the demand is no different but so is the risk.

Search Engines Flooded With Scam Sites

Type in “Asia Cup tickets India Pakistan” and you’ll get hit with a flood of results—page after page of sites claiming to sell tickets. Some even show up as sponsored ads, sitting right at the top of your screen like they’re legit. But many of them? Total scams.

Their position makes them look legitimate at first glance, especially to excited fans eager to grab seats.

One of the sites is selling a single so-called VIP pass for over AED11,000. Other platforms have general admission tickets listed for AED1,500 or more, despite no official announcement being made regarding ticket sales.

In reality, ticket sales have not even begun. Organisers haven’t released any details on pricing, sale dates, or platforms. Any ticket currently being sold online is unofficial and likely a scam.

Authorities Urge Caution Before Falling For Ind-Pak Fake Tickets

Local authorities have issued repeated warnings to residents about online fraud, especially during major events like the Asia Cup. UAE cybercrime officials have asked people to avoid clicking on suspicious links or websites that don’t seem credible.

There’s one piece of advice that gets repeated for a reason: always double-check the URL before typing in any personal info or payment details. It only takes a second, but it can save you a world of trouble.

Scam websites often include spelling mistakes, strange characters or vague domain names that don’t match the official ticketing platforms.

The public has also been advised to wait for updates from the official event organisers or trusted ticketing partners. Buying from unauthorised sellers could not only cost fans their money but also leave them ticketless on match day.
