With Ramadan just a few days away, the Sharjah Charity Association has already begun distributing its Ramadan food basket project. Yes, this is the first initiative under the annual Ramadan campaign, ‘Jood’. Benefiting 25,000 people across the emirate, here’s all you need to know about this noble cause that bring smile to the faces of thousands of people.

Sharjah Charity Association Starts To Deliver Food Baskets

Just ahead of the holy month, the Sharjah Charity Association has already started delivering essential food supplies. Yes, this delivery is taking place directly to the homes of the beneficiaries who are unable to collect their aid in person. This includes senior citizens, People of Determination, and patients. Further mentioned in a report of the Gulf News, the home delivery is being carried out through specialised delivery companies. This ensures there is access and timely support before the month of Ramadan begins.

Shopping Vouchers Are Also Being Provided

Not just food baskets, but shopping vouchers are also being provided by the association. So, beneficiaries get to purchase food items according to their needs throughout the month. This also gives some great flexibility and choices. These are also being distributed at the centres to beneficiaries who have been notified to collect their entitlement in person.

A Key Pillar Of The Annual Ramadan Calendar

The charity is a key pillar of the annual Ramadan calendar, and it aims to ease the financial burden on low-income families during the holy month. Each of these baskets contains 10 carefully selected essential food items. This includes flour, rice, sugar, lentils, and cooking oil. There are other staple supplies as well, which would support the family’s daily needs throughout the month.

Before the distribution began, a comprehensive social study had taken place so that the beneficiary data could be updated and eligible cases could be identified. The home delivery of food baskets, it reflects the association, humanity, and commitment.

So with the help of donuts who continue to support the association’s initiative throughout the year. The large-scale distribution of food baskets has been made possible, and delivery has been carried out smoothly due to advanced planning and coordination amongst the teams.
