Bolt announced on May 18th that the ride hailing services have made an entry in Abu Dhabi. This marks a significant expansion of the ride-hailing services across the UAE. It was also mentioned how it will initially launch limousine services wherein customers will be able to access the ride-hailing services that are backed by a huge network of fleet owners, vehicles, and drivers. After this, it will be followed by taxi services in the next few weeks.

2. Riyadh Metro Opens Western Station

On Friday, May 15th, Western Station, which is one of the most iconic stations of the Riyadh Metro project, opened. Yes, this marks the completion of the Riyadh Metro’s four main stations. Not to mention, it also further establishes one of the most prominent urban landmarks in the city.

3. Saudi Arabia Completes Major Road Updates For Hajj

For Hajj 2026, the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing and Saudi Arabia have completed large-scale road infrastructure upgrades. This is in Mecca and the holy sites for Hajj 2026. Not to mention, it is also a part of the effort to improve mobility and reduce congestion for pilgrims.

4. Gulf Air Restores 75% Of Flights

Bahrain’s Gulf Air has restored 75% of its global network. Additionally, it is steadily increasing flights across the international markets. This comes as Bahrain’s national carrier is moving towards full operational recovery by June 1st, 2026. As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, it was mentioned that Gulf Air is operating across 40 destinations in 24 countries now.

5. Number Of Visitors To Museums Across Oman Drops

As revealed in a report of Muscat Daily, the number of visitors to museums in Oman dropped by 28.6%. Yes, as recorded in 2024, it was 7,53,000 while in 2025, this dropped to 5,38,000. This is according to the data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
