Dubai is preparing to roll out a new set of public behaviour guidelines, along with advice on how celebrations should take place across the city. The move is part of a wider effort to make everyday life in the emirate more organised, respectful and enjoyable for everyone.

Dubai Plans New Public Behaviour Guide And Rules For Community Celebrations

The plans were discussed during the latest meeting of the Dubai Civility Committee, a group set up to shape what city leaders describe as a more thoughtful and people-focused urban experience.

Two major projects stood out from the meeting. One is a Dubai Civility Guidebook, which will outline expectations for behaviour in public places. The other is a set of celebration guidelines designed to encourage people to mark occasions in ways that fit the values of the community.

Residents May Soon Have A Clear Idea Of The Expected Behaviour

For many people, public behaviour rules are often unwritten. You learn them over time. But Dubai now wants to put those expectations into a clearer framework. The planned guidebook is expected to cover how people interact in shared spaces and how they contribute to the overall atmosphere of the city. Officials say the goal is to encourage habits and behaviours rather than enforce on the people to improve daily life for everyone living in or visiting Dubai.

Also, city leaders believe that small actions in public spaces can have a big effect on how people experience the city.

Celebrations Are Under The Radar As Well

Dubai hosts countless celebrations throughout the year. National events, cultural festivals, family gatherings and community occasions all bring people together. That said, officials want future celebrations to reflect a balance between enjoyment and responsibility.

The upcoming celebration guidelines are expected to provide direction on how events can be organised while respecting the wider community and public spaces. While specific details have not yet been released, the idea is to create a shared approach that works across Dubai’s diverse population.

The Plan Goes Beyond Behaviour Alone

The committee also reviewed proposals linked to the city’s appearance and overall experience. One project involves developing a coordinated lighting strategy across Dubai. We can’t wait to get more clarity on this strategy planned by the Dubai Authorities.
