Dubai: Transport Fee Exemptions & Discounts Announced By RTA For Key Groups!

A package of transport-related incentives has been introduced by the Dubai RTA. This includes fine exemption and discounts! With the aim of supporting families, it has been launched to support the ‘Family First’ programme. Here’s all about the initiative that aligns with the National Family Growth Agenda 2031.

The Initiative Supports The Family First Programme

After an agreement with the Ministry of Family and the Dubai Road and Transport Authority, the initiative aims to support the ‘Family First’ programme. The measures under this programme include exemption from Salik toll fees and parking charges for senior Emirati citizens. Not to mention, there are also discounted public transport fares for citizens and students. Moreover, there are also fee waivers for people of determination.

Why Has This Been Introduced?

As further mentioned by the Dubai RTA, the authorities have also announced a reduced cost for vehicle registration and renewal. Moreover, there is also a 50% reduction in licensing fees for taxi drivers. The measure aims to ease the financial burden and promote social well-being across the key segments of society. With Dubai RTA working to offer benefits to the people, this just shows how it is aligned with the fundamentals of the leadership.

As mentioned by Dubai RTA, the programme aims to enhance the transport system, public amenities, public & private urban spaces and infrastructure. Contributing towards strengthening family stability, it also enhances the quality of life. This partnership also reflects an advanced model of integration between urban planning and social policy. Embedding family growth concepts within public transport services and it reinforces the central role in building a balanced and prosperous society for future generations.

More Developments From Dubai RTA Announced

This development from the Dubai RTA comes when it recently announced the operations of Al Riyada Vehicle Testing and Registration Centre in Jebel Ali. Moreover, it mentioned how the working hours were from 7 AM to 10:30 PM from Saturdays to Thursdays and on Fridays, it would be from 7 AM to 12 PM, while in the evenings it would be from 3 PM to 10:30 AM. In fact, recently, the authority also announced the launch of 100 autonomous taxi services. This would be for public use in Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah. Not to mention, it would be in partnership with Apollo Go and We Ride.
