The UAE’s biggest name in public parking just made its first move outside the country, and Egypt is where it’s headed. Parkin, the Dubai-listed operator behind much of the UAE’s public and multi-storey parking infrastructure, has entered the Egyptian market through a memorandum of understanding with three local partners: Modon Misr for Asset & Facility Management, Mwasalat Misr and Redcon Properties.
Parkin Signs Its First Egypt Deal
Together, the four parties will assess potential smart parking and mobility projects across public parking areas and multi-storey car parks in Egypt, covering everything from planning and parking policies to demand management and tech-enabled mobility solutions.
What’s On The Table
The technologies under consideration read like a shortlist straight out of Parkin’s UAE playbook: automatic number plate recognition, AI-enabled parking cameras, barrierless parking, digital permits and parking management platforms, all rolled out across assets managed by the Egyptian partners. The companies will also work through which technical, operational, and commercial models actually make sense for the Egyptian market, rather than assuming a straight copy-paste of what works in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
Why This Move Makes Sense
Parkin said the goal is to improve parking efficiency and customer experience while keeping pace with the mobility needs of Egypt’s fast-growing cities and new communities. It’s a familiar script if you’ve followed Parkin’s run at home: the operator has spent 2026 rolling out barrier-free, ticketless parking at destinations like Dubai’s City Walk and signing long-term deals such as its five-year Aljada agreement in Sharjah with Arada. Egypt now becomes the company’s first step beyond UAE borders and a signal that its smart parking tech is being positioned as an exportable model rather than a purely domestic offering.

The Bigger Picture
For now, this is an assessment-stage MOU rather than a signed rollout, so specific sites, timelines and investment figures aren’t public yet. But for a company that’s spent the past year consolidating its grip on UAE parking, Egypt marks the start of Parkin’s story becoming a regional one rather than a national one.
Egypt is also a logical first stop. The country’s ongoing push into new administrative cities and large-scale urban developments means demand for organised, tech-driven parking is only going up, and Parkin’s Egyptian partners already have a foothold across some of the assets that would need exactly this kind of upgrade. If the assessment phase moves forward into an actual rollout, it would put Parkin’s number plate recognition and barrierless systems, the same ones UAE drivers have gotten used to this year, into a second country.
