The Smallest Library In Dubai Opens At Julith Al Quoz With 500 Books
The idea runs from April 23 to April 30 in Al Quoz, Dubai. And yes, it is what it sounds like.
The library is inside one of Julith’s soundproof pods, which she usually uses for work calls and meetings. Now, it’s a reading nook that’s only 128 cm by 198 cm. It’s small. But that’s the point.
Step inside, and the noise drops away. No distractions. No screens to distract you. Just books on shelves and a quiet invitation to sit down and read.
What You’ll Find Inside
The selection is good, even though it’s small. Bookends has carefully chosen over 500 books in five languages and many different genres.
You don’t just look; you stop. That’s the point. Through Julith’s website, guests can reserve the space for up to an hour for free. It makes sure everyone gets a peaceful, uninterrupted time and keeps things fair.
You can also take home a book that catches your eye. The setup is based on honesty: scan a QR code, pay, and you’re all set.
Not Just A Trendy Idea
It’s not just about how it looks. It touches on something real. People are sick of getting notifications all the time, having to scroll for hours, and having full schedules.
The press release says that the project is part of Bookends’ larger One Million Books Challenge, which asks people to read more and spend less time on screens over the next five years.
