According to a report by the Gulf News, Etihad Rail will be integrated with the existing public transport network in Dubai. These passenger stations in Dubai will be directly linked to feeder buses and taxis. As a result, computers will get to seamlessly travel during the last mile. This development comes at a time when the passenger service is going to be launched in 2026. And with the linking of rail stations with feeder buses and taxis, a new standard for efficient and passenger-centric transport will be set by the emirate.

The Aim Is To Maximise Convenience
As it happens, it is being planned that Etihad Rail will be fully integrated with the Dubai Metro bus system so that it can maximise convenience. With the comprehensive connectivity, it will be easier to transfer between trains, metros, taxis, and buses. In fact, not just Dubai, but Etihad Rail will be integrated with metro buses in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah. For instance, the Abu Dhabi station will be served by city routes and public buses. On the other hand, Sharjah stations will be easily accessible through local and public transport terminals.
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that Etihad Rail and RTA have also partnered to allow passengers to use their existing nol cards. This would be possible across the entire rail and public transport system. Moreover, the unified ticketing will allow simpler payment, which will encourage people to use public transport.
So, once Etihad Rail services begin their operation and it is integrated with the public transport system, it’s bound to make commuting a lot easier for the people.
