Hajj 2026: 72,000 People Apply For 6,228 Slots From UAE For The Annual Pilgrimage In Saudi Arabia

UAE’s General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowment and Zakat has announced that 72,000 applications have been submitted for the upcoming Hajj season in 2026.

Hajj is a mandatory annual pilgrimage that must be performed by Muslims at least once in their lifetime, if they are physically and financially able to take on this journey. And the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowment and Zakat has announced that 72,000 applications have been submitted for the upcoming Hajj season in 2026. This has been done through the authorities’ smart app and official website, as the registration is closed on October 9th.

72,000 Applications Received For Hajj From UAE

As revealed in a report by the Gulf News, this authority has already begun reviewing and granting field approvals for Hajj package applications. Not to mention, they’ve also begun verifying compliance with all the required conditions. It should be noted that selection will be made according to the Cabinet Resolution No. (32) of 2018. This concerns the Hajj and Umrah system. It should be noted that the official Hajj quota for the UAE in the upcoming Hajj season happens to be 6,228.

Applicants With Preliminary Approvals Advised To Abide By Timeline

The pilgrims have been allocated by the authorities who will be responsible for the Hajj affairs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Applicants who will get the preliminary approval will be contacted by the authorities through their registered phone number. So, those who received the approval message have been advised to abide by timelines to complete all necessary procedures. This would ensure that the Hajj permits are issued within the approved time.

Pilgrims From UAE Urged To Register In Twajudi Services

At this point, it should be noted that the registration for the Hajj season 2026 was open until the end of September for Emirati citizens who had not performed Hajj before. Additionally, pilgrims from the UAE were also urged to register themselves or their family in the Twajudi service through the website, mobile app, or WhatsApp. They have also been advised to carry copies of official identification documents so that the return document facilitation can be issued within 30 minutes in case of a passport loss or damage.
