1. Abu Dhabi Cultivates 302,000 New Coral Colonies
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi has cultivated over 3,02,000 new coral colonies. This is from the start of the year, and it is part of the Abu Dhabi Coral Gardens Project. It is one of the largest coral reef restoration initiatives in the Middle East, and this has brought the total number of coral colonies cultivated since the launch of the project to 1.8 million.
2. KSA Ranks First Amongst G20 Countries
The Kingdom has ranked first amongst the G20 countries. It compared the results of the Safety Index for the year 2023. This was issued by the General Authority for Statistics. And according to the results, 97.7% of the total population felt safe while walking alone at night in their residential areas.
3. AI-Powered Park Design Challenge Open
Under the directives of Hamdan bin Mohammed, Dubai Municipality launches the world’s first AI-powered park design challenge. Dubai Municipality has launched the world’s first AI-powered park design challenge. This is under the directive of Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and it invites designers, urban planners, students, start-ups, artificial intelligence, innovators, and researchers to re-imagine Al Safa 2 Park with the help of AI technologies. This challenge has a total prize pool of AED2,00,000 and submissions are open until August 15th.
4. June Bootids Meteor Shower Documented Over AlUla
June Bootids meteor shower was documented over the skies of AlUla. These showers peaked around June 27. And they appear around June 27th, and are known for varying activity. As mentioned by the SPA, it is active until July 2nd, and can be seen at night.

5. Registrations Open For 18th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Registrations are now open for the 18th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. This championship is taking place from November 9th – 21st. As it happens, the participants will be competing for a prize pool of AED3 million. And it reinforces the competition as a leading event on the Jiu-Jitsu calendar.
