It is a part of the countryโ€™s broad measures for protecting the workers from extreme summer temperatures, and here’s all you want to know about the development.

Delivery Motorcycles Banned From Roads During The Day

As announced by the Interior Ministry’s General Traffic Department, delivery motorcycles will be prohibited from plying nationwide from 11 AM to 4 PM daily. This comes into effect today, which is June 1st and will stay in place until August 31st. This is to protect the workers from extreme summer temperatures during some of the hottest hours of the day.

Restrictions Coincide With Kuwaitโ€™s Midday Work Ban

This restriction in Kuwait coincides with the annual midday work ban in the country. During the midday work ban, outdoor labour during peak hours is prohibited, as mentioned in a report of the Kuwait Times. It is also a part of the country’s effort to reduce heat-related illnesses and injuries in the workplace. As mentioned by the authorities, delivery companies and riders will have to comply with the new regulations. Any violation can result in traffic citations and penalties.

This regulation comes into place as the country experiences some of the highest temperatures during the summer in the world. The mercury frequently exceeds 50ยฐC. As it happens, the government, therefore, in recent years has intensified measures in order to safeguard outdoor workers.
