The first edition of Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia took place on June 2nd. This happened at Radisson Manhal – Riyadh. A major milestone for the rapidly evolving culinary sector in the Kingdom, several ambassadors and official representatives were present. During the ceremony, about 250 restaurants across the Kingdom were honoured, and here’s all you need to know about this development.

Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia Launched

Gault&Millau Saudi Arabia guide was unveiled during the evening, which was a major highlight of the event. It features a carefully curated selection of almost 250 restaurants. These are located across the kingdom’s five major cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, Abha and Dammam. Not to mention, it sets a national benchmark for culinary quality and creativity.

Notable Talents Recognised

It should be noted that this guide shines the spotlight on the remarkable achievements of women, restaurant and chefs. Each of the selected restaurants received an official Gault&Millau plaque, which reflects its inclusion in the national guide. In fact, exceptional culinary and hospitality talents were also honoured through five special trophies. These include the following:

Chef of the Year: Wed Saleh
Pastry Chef of the Year: Hachem Taleb
General Manager of the Year: Sara Katanani
Emerging Chef of the Year: Elia Kaadi
Young Talent of the Year: Nihal Felemban
