1. Dubai To Expand Fuel Stations
Dubai recently revealed that it may expand the network of retail fuel outlets. This would reduce congestion and improve traffic flow, as mentioned by Gulf News. As revealed by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, it has reviewed the plan during its 93rd meeting. Measures have also been discussed to strengthen safety standards.
2. UAE Indian Consular Services To Move In July
UAE Indian Consular Services to move to Alhind from BLS from July 1st. This comes after Alhind Tours and Travels won a three-year contract and have replaced BLS International, which was a long-standing operator. This was mentioned in a public notice, which was shared on the mission’s website on April 20th.
3. Abu Dhabi Municipality Introduces Two New Gates
As revealed by the Abu Dhabi Municipality, they have introduced two new gates to Abu Dhabi’s Darb Toll Gate System. This is located in Al Qurm and Ghantoot, and the gates would enhance traffic flow on main roads. As revealed by the Abu Dhabi Media Office, this would improve road use efficiency and reduce congestion, especially during peak hours.
4. Preparations Complete At Miqat Sites
SPA revealed that the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites has announced the completion of preparations at the Miqat sites. This is a part of an integrated operational system, which aims to improve the service efficiency. It’s worth mentioning that Miqat prayer areas can hold more than 6,600 men and around 3,200 women.
5. Etihad Airways To Launch Double Daily Flights To Chicago
The airline also revealed that from June 15 onwards, the operations on Chicago routes will operate double daily and to Charlotte, the service will be daily. So, with more frequency, there would be greater flexibility. Etihad Airways announced that it would launch regular Tashkent–Abu Dhabi–Tashkent flights. This would start from August 17, 2026. As revealed by the Ministry of Transport and Trend from Uzbekistan, this service would connect the two cities. This would resume the direct flights between the two destinations.
6. Dubai Multi Commodities Centre To Launch Two Commercial Towers
As revealed by the Dubai Media Office, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre announced the launch of two commercial towers. These are One Uptown Place and Two Uptown Place, and the two new towers would be within the Uptown Dubai project. With the two towers, over 560,000 square feet of prime office space will be added.
7. UNESCO Launches Sultan Haitham Prize
The Sultan Haitham Prize has been launched by UNESCO. As mentioned by Muscat Daily, this is to honour the global efforts. This would safeguard the intangible cultural heritage. This award recognises Oman’s commitment towards preserving tradition.

8. Dubai Taxi Company Acquires 600 Additional Taxi Plates
Through the latest auction conducted by the Dubai Taxi Company, 600 additional taxi plates have been acquired. DTC’s taxi fleet will grow to 6,817 with the additional taxi plates. Dubai Media Office has revealed the phased introduction of the new vehicles, which would start in July of 2026.
9. Over 470 M Single-Use Plastic Bags Were Prevented From Use
Arabia Business has revealed that Abu Dhabi has prevented the use of 470m single-use plastic bags. Consumption by major retailers dropped by up to 95 per cent, with the public support for sustainability measures reaching 96%.
10. Saffron Drink Introduced
Zafra has introduced what’s said to be the world’s first saffron drink. Now available in Dubai, this is a non-alcoholic beverage. It has a blend of citrus and floral notes, which offers a natural lift.
