Well, that’s a reality now in the UAE capital. The Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development (DCD) has decided to help newlyweds in Abu Dhabi with rental assistance. Here’s a step-by-step guide to understand if you are eligible.

Yes, AED75,000 is the sum they are providing the couples in Abu Dhabi. But before you start picturing your dream house, here’s a list of requirements to be eligible. According to a report by Gulf News, here’s a quick guide to understand the eligibility of this rental assistance in Abu Dhabi.

Who Is Eligible?

  1. Any Emirati Male marrying an Emirati Female (exceptions for humanitarian/social cases)
  2. Should fall under the monthly income limit of AED50,000
  3. Enrolled in the Madeen program with completed Premarital preparation sessions
  4. No prior property ownership, and is new to this rental assistance program

What Type Of House Will Be Provided Under This Assistance?

  1. Should fall in line with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority Standards
  2. Needs to be a rented property located within the Emirate
  3. Needs to be of the size, location as per the rental assistance

If the couple decides to own from any specific owner, it needs to be via an approved developer in coordination with the parties.

Required Documentation

  1. Proof of income
  2. Documents proving no prior ownership
  3. Documents that prove no prior rental assistance

All documents need to be submitted on the Madeem website post all premarital counselling and training sessions. The verification takes around 3 weeks for approvals.

How Much Assistance Will You Get Based On The Husband’s Salary

  1. If less than AED 20,000=AED75,000
  2. AED 20,000–30,000=AED60,000
  3. AED 30,000–40,000=AED45,000
  4. AED 40,000–50,000=AED30,000
