Oman is bracing for another spell of summer heat. It is expected that summer temperatures might reach about 50°C, as revealed by Times of Oman. According to a warning issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, the temperature may gradually rise until July 21st. This is according to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, and the hottest conditions are forecast across coastal areas that overlook the Sea of Oman and the interior desert regions of the country.
Oman Braces For Severe Heat
As revealed by Times of Oman, authorities have mentioned how daytime temperatures are expected to range from mid-forties to nearly up to 50°C. So residents have been asked to take precautionary measures during the peak heat period. This comes as temperatures are expected to rise in the second spell of the heatwave. Outdoor workers have also been advised to take frequent rest breaks, rest in shaded areas, and to stay well hydrated. As per the data recorded over the previous 24 hours, the highest temperature was registered in Muqshin; it reached a peak of 49.4°C.
Health Experts Ask To Take Precautions
Not only this, but medical professionals have also asked the public to remain vigilant. Yes, they have appealed to the public to remain vigilant. They have also mentioned how prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to dehydration. It can also cause heat exhaustion, and sometimes heat stroke can be potentially life-threatening. This is especially true among children, elderly people, and outdoor workers. So, people must ensure that they drink water regularly, even if they do not feel thirsty. They must also wear loose-fitting and light coloured clothing and stay in air-conditioned and shaded areas.

What About Saudi Arabia’s Weather?
Coming to Saudi Arabia, there are thunderstorms expected across several regions in the kingdom till the end of the week as per NCM. According to the forecast, moderate rain will return to the southern sea region and northwestern parts of the region on Tuesday. As per Saudi Gazette, light to moderate rain is expected across much of the southern Asir on Wednesday and showers are expected to intensify into heavy rain extending further north across the sea and into western parts of Najran on Thursday
The UAE, on the other hand, has mentioned that the NCM has forecast temperatures are expected to rise on Monday before it gradually falls over the following days. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times; daytime temperatures are expected to reach 48°C in Liwa.
So with temperature is varying across the GCC region, it’s important to be updated about the weather.
