The Ajman Transport Authority revealed how it has completed the rollout of a fully digital payment system. Yes, it has completed this process across its taxi fleet, which would make all taxi fare transactions cashless. The authority has mentioned how passengers can now pay by using a range of electronic payment options.
How Can Payments Be Made?
As revealed in a report of the Gulf News, this includes QR codes that are displayed on taxi meters and mobile devices. People can also use a Point of Sale terminal that accepts bank cards and contactless payments. This system has been designed so that it offers a secure, fast, and seamless payment experience.
A major milestone in the development of taxi services in Ajman, it enhances operational efficiency while also improving customer convenience. This project helps to speed up payment transactions and also strengthens security and reliability while reducing reliance on cash handling in the emirate. Ajman Transport Authority Records 1.4 M Requests

This development comes just a few months after Ajman Transport Authority revealed how it saw an increase in taxi demand. This was seen through the smart booking channels in the year 2025, and the total request surpassed 1.4 million across the digital platforms and the call centre services. Taxi requests reached 14,12,019 during the year, and the majority of bookings, which stood at 13,51,094 bookings, were made through the smart applications.
