Early preparations for Hajj 2026 have already begun. And it seems that soon, pilgrims from Pakistan will have a new transport that will let them connect with the UAE and other nations. Yes, as per the report of Khaleej Times, the nation is all set to launch its first-ever international ferry service. Here’s all you need to know about it.
Pakistani Nationals To Take Hajj Pilgrims Via Ferry?
As per the reports of the Pakistan Ministry of Maritime Affairs, they have been granted the in-principle licence for ferry operations. With the license available, they can start ferry routes from Gwadar to the Gulf region. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that, presently, all travel between Pakistan and the Gulf countries is by air. These are by carriers like Air Arabia, Emirates, Etihad Airways, PIA, and flydubai, to name some. And if the ferry service begins, it will also offer a more affordable option for those who are travelling to GCC nations and beyond.
It should be mentioned that the ferry is also expected to serve religious pilgrims. Offering them a cost-effective way to travel, Pakistani nationals will get to take on a religious journey by way of sea with the launch of ferry services.
