Dubai Police has issued a fresh alert against fake accounts on websites and social media platforms promoting the sale of Global Village’s new season packages at “tempting” prices. The goal, police say, is to defraud buyers and steal both their money and personal data.
The timing isn’t a coincidence; the warning comes right as Global Village rolls out its Season 31 VIP packages in phases, exclusively through the official Coca-Cola Arena website. The pre-purchase phase runs from September 21 to 25, letting guests lock in packages for an additional fee, before public sales open on September 26.
An Annual Scam Pattern
Dubai Police confirmed this isn’t a one-off; the same fraud tactic resurfaces every year around Global Village’s season announcement. Scammers create and replicate accounts and web pages that closely resemble official ones, tricking people into believing they’re dealing with an authorised source before completing fake purchases or handing over personal data.
