Imagine boarding a train from London to Brussels, finding your seat and then heading upstairs for a cocktail. Sounds more like a night out than a train journey, right? Well, that could soon be a reality. Eurostar has revealed more details about its upcoming Celestia fleet, which will feature a two-storey onboard cocktail bar. Excited? What Can You Expect On Eurostar’s Two-Storey Bar On Trains?
According to Time Out, the bar will span both levels of the double-decker train, with each floor designed to have a different atmosphere and vibe. And the best part? It will be open to all passengers, regardless of their ticket class.
The cocktail bar is one of the standout features of the new train design, with Eurostar describing the concept as an “exciting speakeasy”. The idea takes inspiration from the cocktail bar at Eurostar’s Premier lounge at London St Pancras, where travellers can already enjoy drinks before boarding.
While Eurostar has not revealed the cocktail menu yet, the bar is expected to offer different experiences across its two levels. The design is also meant to make the most of the views from the double-decker trains.
If the drinks take inspiration from Eurostar’s existing Premier lounge, passengers could potentially see cocktails similar to its signature creations, including the Lavender Dusk and Angelique. However, the onboard menu is yet to be announced.

When Will The New Eurostar Trains Start?
There is still some time before you can actually order a cocktail on board. The first Celestia trains are expected to enter service in May 2031.
Eurostar has ordered 30 of these trains from French manufacturer Alstom as part of a deal worth around €2 billion. There is also an option for 20 additional trains. The new double-decker fleet is expected to carry around 20% more passengers than the current trains, with more than 1,000 people able to travel on each train.
Now, the new trains aren’t just about cocktails. Eurostar plans to use the Celestia fleet across its existing network, while also introducing new direct services to Geneva and Frankfurt. These routes will mean passengers travelling from London can reach the two cities without having to change trains in Paris.
The trains will also be designed to handle Europe’s increasingly hot summers, with air-conditioning systems capable of operating in temperatures of up to 55°C.
