Read on to know more!

What Is The Free Bracelet Scam In Europe?

Travel couple (@wandererdentist) recently shared a scam they encountered during their Europe trip that every traveller should know about. In the video, they warned people about the ‘Free Bracelet Scam.’ According to them, in popular tourist destinations across Italy, Spain, Belgium, and other European countries, some vendors approach tourists, strike up a friendly conversation by asking where they’re from, and then tie a bracelet on their wrist, claiming it’s free.

But there’s a catch. While putting the bracelet on your wrist, they may try to steal valuables such as rings or other belongings. They may also show photos of their babies and then ask for money. If you refuse to pay, they might take the bracelet back, or worse, you may realise something valuable has already gone missing. In the caption, the couple revealed that this trick is also known as the “Friendship Bracelet Scam.”
