Train passengers arriving in the capital will soon have free shuttles to Yas Island’s biggest attractions, after Miral and Etihad Rail agreed to join up their transport services. The partnership, announced on Wednesday, will connect Mohamed bin Zayed City station with the island’s theme parks. Ferrari World, Yas Waterworld, Warner Bros. World and SeaWorld, all operated by Miral, are among the destinations.

Free Yas Island Shuttles To Etihad Rail Station Abu Dhabi

Miral says the priority is to make the journey as seamless as possible. The report did not give a start date for the new theme-park link.

Lisa Goswell, Miral Destinations’ senior vice president of sales, described the deal as a step towards connecting rail travel with the Yas Express network. She said it supports the UAE’s push for smarter, more sustainable mobility and helps the tourism sector keep growing.

Yas Express already runs shuttles around the city to bring visitors to the parks, and its network extends as far as Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

What Is Already Running

One free service is in place today. The Yas Express ER1 route links the station with Yas Mall and stops at the mall’s north entrance. Buses leave the station at 7.40am, 1.05pm and 7.35pm, and the trip takes about 30 minutes. Return buses leave Yas Mall at 12.15pm and 4.15pm and take around 45 minutes.

Buses Into The City Centre

For those heading to central Abu Dhabi, AD Mobility operates two dedicated routes. The MR1 connects the station with the Main Bus Station, calling at Al Jazeera Club, Al Mushrif Mall and the Al Rawdah interchange. The MR2 runs to Al Zahiyah Bus Station through Al Rawdah and Mazyad Bus Interchange. Both run in each direction.

Paid Shuttles

Etihad Rail also operates shuttles to Reem Mall, ADNEC, and the ADNOC headquarters. These cost AED10 per journey on top of the train fare.

Why It Matters

Etihad Rail has widened its first-mile and last-mile options since passenger services between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah began on June 30. Adhraa Almansoori, executive director of commercial and support at Etihad Rail Mobility, said the company wants passenger rail to be a practical and convenient part of how people travel across the country.

For families planning a theme-park day, a free connection from the station could remove the need for a car or taxi. Passengers should check Yas Express and Etihad Rail channels for timetables before travelling, as details of the park shuttles are still to come.
