Durga Puja celebrations in Delhi are incomplete without a visit to Chittaranjan Park (CR Park). From pandal-hopping to Bengali food, there is plenty to do here during the Puja festivities. And if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on these five Bengali sweets to try while celebrating Durga Puja there!

5 Bengali Sweets To Try In CR Park During Durga Puja Celebrations

1. Mishti Doi

No Durga Puja celebration is complete without the meethi-meethi Mishti Doi. Unlike regular curd, this traditional Bengali sweet is made by boiling milk until it thickens and turns a little brown. It is then sweetened with sugar or jaggery and set in a kulhad (earthen pot), which gives it a creamy, soft texture and an earthy aroma. You can get it at almost every other sweet shop in CR Park.

2. Baked Rosogolla

Baked Rosogolla, or baked rosogolla, is a modern twist on the classic rasgulla. The sweet rasgullas are topped with thick rabri and baked until the top turns golden and caramel-like. The baking process gives this sweet a very flavourful taste, making it a must-try while pandal-hopping in Delhi’s CR Park. It sounds so unique, right? You can find it easily at Rasoraj Sweets and Kamala Sweets.

3. Khoya Jalebi

Yes, you may have eaten jalebis, but have you ever tried a Khoya Jalebi or a mawa jalebi? Unlike the usual ones, which are made with maida, this sweet is prepared using khoya, which makes it thicker. Khoya jalebi is also known for its deep, dark brown colour and for being crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Due to its colour, people often call it “black jalebi”. You can find it at Kamala Sweets and Sweet Treat in the market.

4. Jolbhora Sandesh

Jolbhora Sandesh is another traditional Bengali sweet that you must try while celebrating Durga Puja in CR Park. Made with fresh chhena, it has a milky taste with a sweet surprise inside. The filling is often made with nolen gur, or date palm jaggery, which gives it a distinct flavour. People with a sweet tooth will absolutely love this one. Find it at Sweet Treat and Shondesh Sweets.

5. Chomchom

Lastly, we have Chomchom on the list. It is made from chhena soaked in sugar syrup. Chomchom usually has an oval or round shape and a spongy, rasgulla-like texture. In CR Park, you will find different varieties of Chomchom. Some of them come topped with grated coconut or khoya, which gives the sweet extra flavour and makes it even more delicious. Try them at Annapurna Sweet House.
