How To Make This Appetising Dessert?
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup jaggery
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup curd
- 3 tbsp milk powder
Recipe:
- To make mishti doi, the first and one of the most important steps is to drain as much water possible from curd. Take a strainer, pour the curd in it, and keep it aside for about half an hour.
- Meanwhile, start preparing the next steps. Take a pan, pour milk, and heat it for a few minutes.
- Once it starts simmering, add milk powder, stir well, and let it boil on a low-medium flame.
- Cook it until the milk quantity decreases. Also, make sure to stir continuously in this process.
- Once done, turn off the stove and quickly add jaggery.
- Mix jaggery continuously till it completely dissolves. After jaggery and milk mix perfectly, keep the bowl aside to cool down.
- Next, take the strained curd and whisk till you get a smooth and creamy texture.
- Once the jaggery milk cools down to a lukewarm temperature, pour a small portion of milk into the curd and stir.
- Next, transfer this mixture to the pan of milk and jaggery, whisk everything till you get the desired smooth texture and consistency, and pour it into your preferred earthen or steel bowl.
- Make sure to cover it with a cloth piece and keep it aside in a warm place for about 7-8 hours.
- Lastly, put the container inside the refrigerator and let it set.
