The Royal Hashemite Court confirmed the twins’ arrival on August 14, with the couple sharing a joint statement: “Praise be to Allah, the bestower of the most beautiful gifts. The most merciful has honoured us with the arrival of our precious twin daughters: Talia and Rania. ” Days later, Queen Rania shared the first photos of her new granddaughters on social media, showing herself and King Abdullah II cradling the newborns. “Healthy, happy, and finally here. We’ve been waiting so long to meet you, Talia and Rania,” she wrote, adding congratulations to “sweet big sister Amina”.
What Do The Names Mean?
Both names carry meaning in Arabic. Talia is associated with “morning dew”, evoking freshness and renewal. Rania comes from a root meaning “one who gazes intently” and carries an extra personal touch, since one of the twins shares her name with her grandmother, Queen Rania herself.
