Ever since Riyadh Air was announced, it has been making waves on social media with important developments ahead of its release. And now, it seems that the wait is nearly over. Yes, soon Riyadh Air could take flight as soon as October 26, Sunday, for London’s Heathrow and here’s all you need to know about this development related to the airline.

Riyadh Air Secures Slot At London Heathrow Airport

As per reports of Simple Flying, it was revealed that Riyadh Air has secured a daily morning slot at London Heathrow. Yes, this route will be operated by its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that can seat 288 people. The development comes at a time when Riyadh Air just recently revealed that it would begin its services before the end of 2025. And now we can truly make a guess about the destinations during the initial phase.

This Is A Morning Slot

It should be noted that the aircraft that will be used for servicing this route between King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and London Heathrow Airport can seat 288 passengers. Not to mention the service allows the carrier to arrive at the airport at 7:30 AM, and the return is two hours later. Although it is worth noting in the same breath that an official announcement by Riyadh Air has not been made yet. Not to mention, it’s not clear whether this would be the first commercial flight, or it will be flying to any other destination.

For those who are wondering, Riyadh Air is the new flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, and it has not yet operated any commercial flight. Although it has completed several non-commercial certification flights between Riyadh and Jeddah in 2024. And London could be one of its first destinations when the operations begin. If this becomes a possibility, it is going to give travellers more flying options between Saudi Arabia and the UK. After all, currently only Saudia, Virgin Atlantic, and British Airways offer daily direct flights from Riyadh to London.
