1. Riyadh Airport Begins Terminal Shuffle

King Khalid International Airport, which is in Riyadh, has finally begun its largest operational transformation. Ever since the airport opened over 40 years ago, this overhaul, which is being undertaken in a phased manner, will mark a major shift in the airline operations. A part of the Terminal Transition Project, terminal allocations are being reorganised.

2. Air India Kochin-Kuwait Flight Delayed

An Air India flight from Kochi to Kuwait was delayed on Sunday. This was due to technical issues, and the flight was scheduled to depart at 4:30 PM. However, it was unable to operate due to a technical snag. The flight was later rescheduled for 9 AM on Monday. And aggrieved passengers demanded alternative arrangements after the delay.

3. Saudi Arabia Predicts Temperature Rise In Mecca & Medina

It is being predicted by the National Centre for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia that there will be above average temperatures and below normal rainfall in Mecca and Medina. This prediction is for the month of Ramadan 2026, and the centre has mentioned how the expected rainfall in city would most probably be lower than usual. The temperatures are also expected to exceed the seasonal norms. With the maximum increase in reaching 1°C above the average in Mecca and 1.2°C in Medina.

4. Dubai RTA Inaugurates A New Bridge

Dubai’s Northern Bridge, which is at the intersection of Al Qudra Street with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street by the Dubai RTA, this bridge is approximately 700 m. This would help in facilitating traffic movement in both directions on the Al Qudra Street by offering direct connections. As it happens, the bridge integrates with the bridge that the RTA inaugurated the previous week.

5. Abu Dhabi’s Modern Landmarks Get Heritage Status

40 new sites are going to be added to the Modern Heritage Register by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. As a report of the news, the fresh new additions are being built on the first batch of listings that were announced in 2022. This reinforces the emirate’s commitment towards protecting culturally significant sites that come under the 2016 cultural heritage law.
