Saudi Arabia has announced two digital upgrades this week. Both are aimed at the same thing: less waiting around, more actually getting where you need to go. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a range of digital services to help visitors plan their visit and navigate the site more efficiently.

Saudi Arabia’s Prophet’s Mosque Gets New Digital Services, Tawakkalna Expands

The new features are genuinely useful if you’ve ever stood confused near Rawdah wondering where to go next: an interactive map of the Prophet’s Mosque, a live crowd monitoring service for the route to offer salutations to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), real-time updates on prayer area occupancy, a visitor services portal, the Manarat Al Haramain platform, a worshipper’s guide and a children’s hospitality centre.

Specifically, the crowd monitoring service allows worshippers to check congestion levels before heading to the Rawdah and greeting area, while the prayer occupancy service helps them identify the most suitable time and location for prayers. It’s all available through the authority’s official website.

Tawakkalna Adds 40 More Services

Separately, the Tawakkalna App announced the addition of 40 new services during July, developed in collaboration with 24 government entities, as part of its push to keep expanding what you can do through a single national platform. Participating organisations include the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Media, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the Saudi Tourism Authority, General Authority for Real Estate, SASO and KACST, along with several universities and other government agencies.

This builds on an even bigger June expansion, where forty government, private, and non-profit entities added 160 new services to Tawakkalna, spanning sectors including education, healthcare, municipalities and housing, justice, and tourism.

Why It Matters If You’re Travelling To Saudi

Between Umrah trip planning and everyday resident admin, both updates point the same direction: fewer separate apps, fewer physical counters, and more of it handled from your phone before you even land.
