Saudi Arabia Welcomes Equinox Resort AMAALA With 128 Rooms, Rooftop Pool & Cryotherapy

Equinox Hotels has officially opened its doors on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, marking the fitness and wellness brand’s second hotel globally and its first outside the United States. Developed in partnership with Red Sea Global (RSG), Equinox Resort Amaala has launched at Marina Village in Triple Bay, adding a high-performance edge to the kingdom’s fast-growing luxury tourism scene.

Design Inspired By The Landscape

The resort comprises 128 rooms and suites spread across six accommodation categories, including two penthouse suites, alongside 21 branded residences. Designed by Foster + Partners with interiors by Rockwell Group, the property draws its aesthetic directly from its surroundings, the Red Sea coastline, the marine environment beneath it, and the Hijaz Mountains framing the bay. Positioned at the heart of Triple Bay’s marina district, it sits close to the Yacht Club, the Corallium Marine Life Institute, and a cluster of retail and dining venues, functioning as something of a sculptural centrepiece for the waterfront.

Wellness And Recovery At The Core

True to Equinox’s performance-driven identity, wellness infrastructure sits at the core of the resort. It houses 704 square metres of indoor and outdoor training space, the largest fitness facility anywhere in Amaala, plus a 1,602 square metre spa built around the Equinox X Circuit, a seven-stage regeneration journey combining cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast-temperature treatments. Guest rooms lean on Equinox’s sleep-science platform, using circadian lighting, advanced acoustic isolation and precision climate control to support deeper rest and recovery. Elsewhere, guests can cool off in four outdoor pools, including a lap pool and a rooftop magnesium salt pool overlooking the bay, or eat across dining venues Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai and EQX Den.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said the opening introduces a distinctive new dimension to the destination’s wellness offering, and that bringing Equinox’s reputation for high-performance living to Amaala reinforces the ambition to create a place where wellness, sport and luxury genuinely come together.

Part Of A Bigger Red Sea Vision

The opening lands as Amaala shifts from a long-planned development into a functioning tourism destination. RSG selected Equinox back in July 2023 to lead the project, which now joins a growing roster of properties at Triple Bay, including the recently opened Rosewood Amaala. Once complete, Amaala is expected to feature more than 1,600 hotel rooms across nine resorts, alongside branded residences, wellness facilities, and a curated retail and dining scene, part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push to position its Red Sea coast as a global wellness-tourism hub.
