Mumbaikars Can Now Carry Ganpati Idols In Metro

For Bappa devotees across Mumbai, the Metro authorities have made an exception. Mumbai Metro is now allowing people to carry idols on trains, but they must follow certain size rules. Different Mumbai Metro operators have set different limits for the height of idols. As per Hindustan Times, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL), which operates Metro 3 or the Aqua Line, has said that idols must not be more than 18 inches, or 45 cm, in height.

Metro 3 runs between Cuffe Parade and Aarey-JVLR. To make people aware of the rules, the authorities have put up notices at several stations explaining the dos and don’ts. The aim is to make sure that other passengers on the metro are not disturbed.
