Sharjah Municipality has proved itself once again. It has completed and opened Al Khan Park in less than a month. This opening happened right before Eid Al Adha, and the new park spans 5,000 m². Here’s all you need to know about the new recreational destination that was just added to the emirate.

Sharjah Municipality Opens Al Khan Park

Just in time for Eid Al Adha celebrations, Sharjah Municipality completes and opens Al Khan Park. This opening also comes in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who is the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His directive is to expand, develop, and maintain public parks across the emirate. Not to mention, this is for enhancing the quality of life and providing residents with accessible green spaces.

Talking about the park, construction began for this on April 30th, and it ended up being delivered in a record timeframe of under one month. It reflects the municipality’s commitment, as revealed in a report by Sharjah24, when it comes to executing service projects.

A Range Of Family-Friendly Activities

This park has a range of family-friendly facilities, which makes it the perfect destination for residents and visitors this Eid Al Adha. There’s a football field, a dedicated children’s play area, internal walkways, seating zones, lighting poles, and other service amenities, which have been designed in such a way that the residents in the neighbourhood are served. In fact, a significant portion of the park is made up of about 3,000 m² of landscaped green grass. This aims to enhance the visual appeal of the area while also creating an environment which is calm and welcoming.

There have been extensive landscaping works and irrigation networks, which are part of the border effort to ensure there is high-quality public infrastructure. With the expansion of parks across the residential neighbourhood in Sharjah, it is worth mentioning that this is a part of a wider strategy, which aims to strengthen the urban landscape of the immigrant.
