However, the UAE government is helping to ease these challenges through their support system. Yes, we are talking about the Sanad Card, which is at the heart of this system.
What Is The Sanad Card?
The first question that arises what is this card? However, for those who don’t know, this is basically a government-issued identification card. It is available to eligible People of Determination after an official diagnosis and registration process. A valuable resource with a range of services, which include accessibility and quality of life. In fact, the benefits of this card also include a designated parking permit, select toll exemption for approved vehicles and annual card privileges, which would support travel on public transport.
The Services Extend To Attractions & Theme Parks
It should be noted that the Sanad Card offers priority access to cardholders at select government facilities as well. In fact, this also extends to attractions and theme parks, which allows families to avoid waiting for a long time. Moreover, many residents continue to remain unaware of the support that is available through the programme.
In a Gulf News report, it was mentioned that for many such children, crowded environments, excessive noise, long queues and being quite overwhelming. This makes priority access and tailored services important.
What are The Documents Needed For Sanad Card?
But how to apply for a Sanad card? Well, the required documents must be presented by residents and tourists. For residents, the Sanad Card is valid for two years, and they should apply with the following documents:
- Electronic copy of a valid Emirates ID
- Electronic copy of proof of residence in Dubai
- Electronic copy of a medical report that has been issued by a recognised diagnostic authority within the country
These are the documents needed for tourists in Dubai:
- An electronic copy of a certified medical report from their home country or an official disability card, which is issued in their country.
- Electronic copy of a recent high-quality personal photograph.
The tourist Sanad Card is valid for two months.

Where To Apply For Sanad Card?
To apply for the Sanad Card, people need to visit the CDA’s online portal. However, they cannot apply for the card in person by visiting the CDA Customer Happiness Centre, which is at Al Twar Municipality Centre, Al Barsha Community Centre, or Hatta Community Centre.
So, with the Sanad Card making life easier for people in the emirate, make sure to let your friends and family know about this card if they also have someone who could make use of it.
