The UAE is stepping up in terms of futuristic innovations. This time, the region has put the world to a stop by introducing a new system for work permits. The government has announced plans to use artificial intelligence, calling it the ‘Eye’ system, to speed up and simplify the work visa process. That means no more traditional paperwork and slow approvals. It’s time for a speedy and much-needed tech upgrade.

The ‘Eye’ system will be led by the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. Forget human errors and delays, as AI agents will be replacing these long queues caused by manual checking. Imagine getting your documents verified in minutes instead of months! This includes checking personal photos, passports, and academic certificates.
Earlier, the UAE in 2023 had announced slashing processing times for residency visas and work permits from 30 days to just 5. Now this new system will help the process run faster and more accurately, with fewer human interventions and less room for error.
A Tech-First Hiring Experience
We understand the hassle of going through a pile of documents to get your work visa. Hence, multiple businesses are already ‘eyeing’ this system to hire talent minus the hassle of paperwork. This cutting down multiple steps, companies will be able to onboard staff more efficiently, while workers will benefit from quicker approvals and smoother processing.
Apart from the speed, the Eye system was introduced to strengthen the security and accuracy by using advanced AI verification. This reduces the risk of fraudulent or incorrect submissions.
A Vision Backed by Leadership
This bold shift aligns with the vision set out by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. He announced a mission to eliminate 2,000 unnecessary government procedures under the Zero Government Bureaucracy programme.
By June, several government sectors had already dropped by more than 70 per cent.
With the Eye system in place, the UAE’s work visa process is set to become faster, smarter, and more reliable. This will lead to everyday systems working better for business and beyond.
