Ramadan Nights programme has finally been unveiled by the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. Celebrating Emirati culture and authentic values, this initiative aims to strengthen community connection and belonging. This aims to enable the residents and visitors to experience the unique atmosphere of the holy month through a slew of programmes. As a part of the Season of Wulfa initiative, which reinforces his family bonds and celebrates Emirati social and cultural occasions, here’s all you need to know about the Ramadan Nights programme.

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority Reveals Ramadan Nights Programme

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority recently revealed its Ramadan Nights programme. This programme is scheduled across the Dubai Culture’s cultural and heritage assets. As revealed in a report of the Dubai Media Office, it would feature a series of activities and performances that are inspired by the local traditions.

Al Safa Art & Design Library To Host Activities

The outdoor courtyard of Al Safa Art & Design Library, for instance, will host a range of workshops and interactive activities. These would be organised by Dubai Public Libraries under the School of Life initiative. Aiming to develop cultural and life skills across the community, the workshops include Free Drawing Space that offers visitors an opportunity to create artwork inspired by the spirit of Ramadan. There will also be a Ramadan thoughts wall where participants will be able to share literary reflections and personal messages.

What Else Can You Expect Here?

There is also something in store for families and children at the Ramadan Lantern Decorating and Colouring Wall. Here, they would be able to create lantern-inspired artworks and participate in a Treasure Hunt adventure. The latter would feature puzzles and hidden Ramadan symbols throughout the library. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a board games corner and a traditional Ramadan majli. Throughout the evenings, visitors at Al Safa Art & Design Library will also have the opportunity to discover the art of henna designs. They can also explore Arabic calligraphy and learn traditional methods of preparing Matcha and even experience perfume-making and blending workshops.

The diverse range of programmes would include live musical performances, traditional storytellers, and choral performances, all of which would be inspired by the spirit of the holy month. There will also be a creative market, which would support artists, entrepreneur and local talents. Here, they would be given a platform to showcase their artwork and handmade products that are inspired by Ramadan.

Al Shindagha Museum To Experience Cultural Activations & More

At Al Shindagha Museum, visitors will get to experience cultural activations inspired by traditional Arish. They will also get to enjoy Iftar majlis where there will be live cooking demonstration is led by a selection of Emirati chefs. The programme would also include storytelling sessions that would highlight the values of generosity and hospitality, and define Emirati cuisine. The museum would also offer a live demonstration of palm-inspired traditional crafts, along with interactive experiences, which showcase heritage crafts and products.

Finally, the Etihad Museum would host a screening of the Mountain Boy, which would be followed by a discussion. Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children would offer a rich programme of workshops and interactive activities inspired by the values of the holy month. Visitors would also have the opportunity to explore Islamic arts, learn henna design, engage with creative talents at the artist’s market, discover basic music techniques, sample traditional food, and enjoy games in a warm environment.

Truly an all-round experience, this is something people wouldn’t want to be during their whole month.
