World Women’s Triathlon Cup, A Milestone Event To Be Hosted In Dubai
According to Trade Arabia, Dubai Sports Council, in collaboration with the World Triathlon Federation and the UAE Triathlon Federation, has organised the event to highlight women in sports on the world stage.
The championship features three classic triathlon disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. Here are the categories for the same:
- Professional: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
- Sprint (Amateurs): 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
- Super Sprint (Beginners): 400m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run
Apart from the individual races, there’s also a team event. Under this, three women team up, one for each discipline, in the Sprint and Super Sprint races.
Dubai’s Vision: Where Empowerment Meets Action
Dubai’s long-term plan is to boost women’s participation in global sports. Hence, Dubai Sports Council has pushed to create a balanced society where women can “compete, achieve, and inspire. Dubai already has a global reputation in terms of pushing its residents towards fitness and competition, and this championship is another example of that.
The World Triathlon Organisation has officially added the event to its annual calendar. Its president, Antonio Fernandez Arimany, lauded Dubai’s leadership in championing women’s sports.
A Global Stage For Local Talent
Not just professional athletes, the Women’s Triathlon World Cup is open to all women. Participants aged 18 and above can register themselves regardless of nationality. Simply sign up on the official event website by December 3, 2025.
