Sharjah is packing its summer calendar. The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has unveiled the next phase of its summer programme, bringing more than 50 activities to its destinations across the emirate through to the end of September. From beach fitness and community runs to children’s camps and family evenings, there’s enough on the schedule to keep residents and visitors genuinely busy.

Shurooq Launches Over 50 Activities Across Its Hotspots Over The Next 2 Months

The centrepiece of the programme is a seven-week beach fitness initiative running every Friday and Saturday from 7 August to 19 September, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Al Heera Beach on the western coast and Khorfakkan Beach on the east will host 28 professionally led sessions covering sunset yoga, beach running, functional fitness, cycling, ladies-only sessions, and parent-and-child activities.

The finale at Khorfakkan Beach promises a large-scale community fitness event set against the emirate’s striking mountain and coastal backdrop. All sessions are free and designed for varying fitness levels, making it one of the more accessible wellness offerings in the region this summer.

Sharjah Saturday Run, Kids’ Camps, And Family Nights

Alongside the beach programme, Shurooq is introducing the Sharjah Saturday Run, four free evening runs alternating between Al Qasba and Al Majaz Waterfront, kicking off on 15 August. Each run starts at 6:00 pm and is open to all ages. Registration is required through the Discover Shurooq website, and participants should arrive by 5:45 pm.

Children aged seven to fifteen can join the Summer Explorer Camp at Al Qasba from 10 to 27 August, moving through sessions on robotics, coding, public speaking, and storytelling. Over at Al Majaz Waterfront, 14 themed family evenings will run every Friday and Saturday from 7 August to 19 September, wrapping up with a two-day celebration on 18 and 19 September.

For families who want to venture further, Al Noor Island hosts weekend creative and nature workshops for children, while Mleiha National Park offers fossil discovery, desert tours, and stargazing experiences through special summer packages.

Beyond the activity programme, Shurooq is spotlighting its hospitality portfolio for those looking for a quieter escape. Properties across the Sharjah Collection, including Kingfisher Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, and Al Rayaheen Retreat, offer private stays set among dunes, mangroves, and mountain landscapes.

In the heart of the city, The Chedi Al Bait and its Serai Wing bring restored Emirati heritage homes together with luxury accommodation and wellness facilities, a fitting option for anyone wanting culture alongside comfort.
