Oman’s famous mountain escape is getting ready for another busy summer season. The Al Jabal Al Akhdhar Festival 2026 is set to begin on 15 July and continue until the end of August, bringing visitors back to one of the country’s coolest and most scenic regions during peak summer heat across the Gulf.

And honestly, for many families in Oman and nearby GCC countries, Al Jabal Al Akhdhar has quietly become the go-to place when temperatures elsewhere start to feel unbearable.

The festival takes place in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and centres around the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, a mountain destination known for its cooler weather, terraces and dramatic views.

Over the years, the summer festival has slowly grown into one of the region’s bigger tourism seasons, attracting visitors looking for events, local experiences and a break from city heat.

That said, organisers still haven’t revealed the full event calendar yet.
