The Riyadh Racing Season 2026-2027 is returning this October. It is a big part of the Saudi culture and heritage of horse racing, and the fantastic racing event returns to the King Abdulaziz Racecourse on October 16th. Riyadh Racing Season 2026-2027 Returns In October
The Riyadh Racing Season 2026-2027 will begin on October 16th and will continue into 2027, ending on April 17th. The season is spread over six months and will host 69 races. The total prize pool is SAR197.8 million, with the prize being increased across several major cups this season.
A Massive Prize Pool For Taking
Talking about the prizes, the prize purse for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, which is a qualifier for the Saudi Cup, has been increased to SAR2 million. This was previously at SAR1.5 million. The prize purse for the Crown Prince Cup has also been increased to SAR1.5 million, which was previously at SAR1 million. The King Saud and King Faisal cups has been increased to SAR1 million each, instead of SAR800,000. While the Prince Naif and Prince Sultan cups have been increased to SAR800,000 each from the previous SAR700,000. Finally, the King Abdulaziz Racetrack Champion will be given SAR500,000 instead of SAR300,000.

Two New Series Introduced For The Season
Two new series have also been introduced by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia. This includes the three-round Riyadh Crown, which is for locally bred horses with SAR6 million in prize money. The other one is the Riyadh Sword for imported mares, offering SAR1.537 million in prize money. The calendar would also see the return of the King Abdulaziz Cups, which is the richest domestic cup in the season. It returns on March 12th, 2027 and will feature SAR10.9 million in prizes. The renamed Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman bin Faisal Cup, which carries a purse of SAR300,000, has also been introduced.
