Some nights call for a big screen and a room full of strangers. Others call for exactly the opposite. ROXY Cinemas has picked up on that second instinct, launching a new Private Cinema at its The Beach, JBR location, alongside a fully refreshed lounge, giving guests a more intimate way to catch the latest releases.
ROXY Cinemas Just Made Movie Night A Lot More Private At The Beach, JBR
A Screen All To Yourselves
The new Private Cinema hands over an exclusive space for groups of up to 12 guests, swapping the usual shared-auditorium experience for something considerably more personal. Premium seating and in-seat delivery mean the room can flex easily between occasions, whether that’s a low-key catch-up with friends, a birthday, a date night, or even a proposal. Bookings start at AED 1,500 on weekdays and AED 2,000 on weekends, excluding food and beverage, with guests free to choose from whatever’s currently showing across ROXY’s line-up.
It’s a format built for the kind of evening where the film is really just the backdrop. A dozen people, one room, no strangers rustling popcorn three rows back, and the flexibility to build the night around a celebration rather than a screening time. For groups who’ve outgrown the standard cinema outing or simply want a bit more control over who they’re sharing a room with, it fills a gap that Dubai’s mainstream multiplexes have mostly left open.

The Lounge Gets A Glow-Up Too
Alongside the new private offering, the existing lounge at The Beach, JBR has had a complete refresh, with updated interiors, upgraded seating, and a more elevated finish throughout. It’s designed to give guests a comfortable spot to settle in before a film or linger afterwards, rather than just a corridor between the entrance and the screen.

What Else Is New For Guests?
Between the Private Cinema and the reworked lounge, ROXY is positioning The Beach, JBR, as less of a straightforward multiplex stop and more of a destination in its own right, one where the pre-movie wait and the post-movie debrief matter almost as much as what’s playing. For a beachfront location that’s long been a JBR staple, it’s a fairly deliberate pivot toward exclusivity and comfort over sheer volume.
Whether it’s a spontaneous plan with friends or an occasion worth marking properly, ROXY Cinemas’ Private Cinema at The Beach, JBR offers a version of movie night with a little more privacy, polish, and room to actually talk before the lights go down.
