Ultra Gobi AlUla 2027 Dates Announced
As January sets in, so does the anticipation for the first-ever international Ultra Gobi AlUla 2027. This tournament will be taking place from January 13th – 28th, and it is originally from China. For those who are not aware, it is one of the most established outdoor endurance races. The perfect race for those who like to test their endurance level, this is definitely something you cannot think of missing.
AlUla Edition Will Have Six Formats
For the unversed, Ultra Gobi AlUla is a racing format that’s originally from China. There, it is one of the most established outdoor endurance races. For the AlUla edition, the race will be in six formats. The 400 km race is self-navigated and non-stop. However, the A+ format covers 121 km has non-stop race for individual runners. Here’s a look at the other formats for the AlUla edition.
- The format covers a 121 km distance as a four-day race for groups of three to five athletes. It is scored on the third-person scoring rule, which is based on the cumulative time of the third member to finish each stage. They are adjusted for gender and age.
- The B format allows a 121 km course as A at an individual pace.
- The C format gives a single-day 30 km desert experience, which is open to all fitness levels.
- The Youth format gives a 90 km three-day family race. This has been designed as a multigenerational experience, perfect for younger participants along with their families.

What About The Tickets?
With the announcement, it’s worth mentioning that registrations are already open. In fact, this is the first time in the 20-year history of Ultra Gobi that it will be taking place outside China. The race has previously welcomed 79,000 race entries over the two decades. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that registering for this race starts at SAR3,790.
