Marking the next stage of the water park’s Lost City theming expansion, Abu Dhabi Media Office has mentioned that it will open to guests on April 4th, 2026. Yes, as announced by Miral, Yas Waterworld is building on the Legend of the Lost Pearl story. Through this development, there will be eight new slides to jumping platforms and a lounging pool. The fantastic additions would enhance the water parks’ portfolio and would bring the total number of in-park experiences to over 70.

An important milestone marking their commitment towards delivering world-class entertainment experience on Yas Island, 11 new slides and attractions would enhance the offerings at the park. As the island continues to grow as a tourism hub, it will continue to remain focused on further positioning itself as a top destination for entertainment and leisure.
Talking about the new slides, Matamir’s Drop is one of the most talked about. It would feature the UAE’s tallest water slide, which would offer a plunge from more than 40 m. With guests also getting to experience free fall and a 233 m slide run. They can also look for the experience called Sahel Matamir, which is a free-fall tube racer. This would launch the riders through the burst of speed and zero gravity moments.

High-Speed Body Slide, Fast Drops & More!
Additionally, visitors can take on Matamir Loop, which is a high-speed body slide and is built for rapid distance. On the other hand, Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights delivers a ride which combines fast drops with immersive lighting effects. And guests who enjoy light and friendly competition, Matamir Splash offers a duelling mat racer that allows riders to race side-by-side. Sarab, which is a spacious leisure pool area, is also worth checking out as it would offer a relaxing, family-friendly environment. On the other hand, Al Afda invites visitors to take a leap from the jumping platform into the waters below.
