Dubai’s dining scene just got a fiery new addition. World-famous teppanyaki brand Benihana has officially opened its newest outpost, Benihana Ibn Battuta, on the ground floor of Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai. The hotel is owned by Seven Tides International and operated by Minor Hotels, and this marks the first time Benihana’s signature live cooking theatre has landed in this part of the city.

At the heart of the restaurant sits the teppan grill, where chefs cook every dish tableside using the knife skills and theatrical tricks Benihana has built its reputation on for more than 60 years, including the brand’s famous egg-juggling routine, where spatulas bounce, flip and crack eggs mid-air. Dordije Jabucanin, Director of Sales and Marketing at Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai, called it an “unforgettable meal” built around precision cooking and entertainment, adding that the restaurant is designed to work for everything from family celebrations to nights out with friends.
What’s On The Menu
The centrepiece is Benihana’s Japanese A5 Wagyu Teppanyaki, known for its rich, buttery texture. Diners can also order the Godzilla Roll, topped with lightly torched wagyu, truffle sauce and edible gold flakes, alongside an extensive sushi and sashimi spread. For something different, there’s a dedicated Shabu Shabu menu. It has umami-rich dashi broth, marbled meat and fresh vegetables for communal dining.

A 95-Seater With A Social Setup
Benihana Ibn Battuta seats 95 guests around its tableside teppan stations, with private and semi-private group arrangements available on request. It’s ideal for birthdays, anniversaries or a celebration that calls for a bit of a show. There’s also a standalone seafood and sushi bar for guests who want to watch fresh rolls in making. The restaurant sits right by Ibn Battuta Mall and its metro station. It’s an easy add-on for a mall day that ends in flames, quite literally.
