Caviar Bump Moment As Seen On Desi Bling
The first introduction we get to Caviar is when Pamala Serena whips out a small box of this delicacy for her beloved puppy, during her lunch with Tabinda Sanpal. And just Tabinda, we were also left shocked, as Caviar is a delicacy that doesn’t come cheap, but in Pamala’s words, her furry friend deserves the best!
The next time we see Caviar, it is again with Pamala. It’s her birthday bash, and the cast is seen eating off the food from the back of their hand. This is called Caviar Bump, and it must have made you curious as well. It must have got you wondering, “Why do people always eat caviar from the back of their hand?” Well, we are here with an answer for you.
What Is Caviar Bump?
Caviar Bump is a popular tasting ritual. Basically, a small scoop of caviar is placed on the back of your hand, the area between the index finger and thumb, before it’s eaten in one go. This is a popular and traditional method of tasting and eating caviar, because it makes the taste of the roe remain untainted. Not to mention, leaving it on the back of the hand for a little moment, before it’s eaten, gives the egg enough time to warm up slightly, so that the natural oils are released.
But did you know there’s also a historical aspect to this? Yes, dating back to the 16th century, fishmongers and buyers used this method to test the quality of roe. Not to mention, it was also highly sanitary as no utensils were being shared.
