Anyone flying through Dubai this Eid week should probably expect crowds. But the city is trying hard to stop the usual airport chaos before it starts. Dubai International Airport’s (DXB) Terminal 3 will now keep all immigration counters running 24 hours a day during the Eid Al Adha travel rush. The plan starts from May 25th 2026, and continues until the 29th.
Dubai Airport Keeps Immigration Open All Night During Eid Rush
The decision comes as DXB prepares for one of its busiest periods of the year, especially with thousands of residents flying out for holidays, while others arrive to spend Eid in the UAE.
And honestly, anyone who has stood in those long immigration lines after a late-night flight will understand why this matters.
Passengers Could See Faster Movement At Arrival
Terminal 3 already handles huge numbers every day because it is Emirates’ main hub. During Eid, though, passenger traffic usually jumps even higher.
Authorities expect pressure during three key periods: early-morning flights from Europe, midday arrivals from South Asia, and late-night transit passengers connecting between Africa and Asia.
Normally, airport staffing slows down a bit after midnight. But this time, there will be no “quiet hours” at immigration.
Officials want average waiting times to stay below 15 minutes, even during the busiest stretches.
That said, they are also warning travellers not to assume the airport will suddenly become queue-free. If flights are delayed or rerouted due to regional airspace issues, congestion can still build up very quickly.
Business Travellers May Benefit Too
For many business travellers, this small change could save hours.
People arriving on overnight flights often struggle to make early meetings because immigration can sometimes take forever during holiday periods. Companies and travel agencies are already adjusting travel schedules around the temporary 24/7 system.
Hotels are also expecting more guests to check in before sunrise since passengers may get through the airport faster than usual.
Also, freight crews and technicians flying in for urgent work assignments could move more smoothly through arrivals during the five days.

Smart Gates Will Still Need Registration
Dubai’s smart-gate system and e-gates will remain active throughout the Eid rush. But first-time users still need manual verification from an immigration officer before they can fully use the service.
Authorities are still advising travellers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure, especially during peak Eid timings.
