Dubai’s Brass Monkey Is Taking Over Motor City With Korean BBQ, Sushi & More!

Motor City residents are about to get a lot louder this summer. Brass Monkey, the Dubai nightlife favourite known for bowling, arcade games, drinks and group outings, is opening a huge new venue in Motor City. But this one sounds very different from its existing locations at Bluewaters and City Walk.

Dubai’s Brass Monkey Set To Open In Motor City

The lower floor is expected to function with the familiar Brass Monkey energy. Think food, music, drinks, games and people becoming strangely competitive over bowling scores after two mocktails.

But the food direction is changing quite a bit this time. The new Motor City branch is leaning heavily into Asian flavours, with influences from Japan, Korea, China and other parts of Asia shaping the menu. Guests can expect sushi, sashimi, maki rolls, dim sum, wok dishes and robata grill items. Also, Korean barbecue is joining the club, too.

The Kitchen Team Comes With Serious Dubai Restaurant Experience

The food menu is being led by chef Prabin Tamang, whose background includes restaurants like Mimi Kakushi and OKKU.

The wider kitchen team also reportedly includes chefs who’ve worked across several recognisable Asian dining spots in the city, which explains why this opening feels more ambitious than a standard entertainment venue expansion.

That said, Brass Monkey still seems determined to keep things social and fun rather than overly formal.

Upstairs Is Where Things Get Interesting

The second floor introduces an entirely new concept called Hey Tiger. Described as a modern Asian social house, it’s built around open kitchens, shared plates, music and long dinners that slowly turn into late nights without anybody noticing the time.

There’ll also be a large outdoor terrace opening once Dubai’s weather becomes tolerable again. So cooler months will likely turn the space into a proper late-night hangout spot.

And apparently, Brass Monkey may also be eyeing the Abu Dhabi location next.
