Armenia has extended its visa-free entry for UAE and GCC residents until July 2027, allowing stays of up to 180 days. Here’s everything you need to know before booking your tickets. The country has pushed its visa waiver deadline all the way to 1 July, 2027, which means UAE residents can keep entering without the paperwork headache for another year.

Who’s Covered

The waiver isn’t just for UAE nationals. GCC residents, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Oman, along with EU, Schengen, Qatar, Kuwait and US passport holders, are all part of the list. In total, 111 nationalities make the cut, though Yemen and Sudan have been dropped this time around. Travellers can stay for up to 180 days within a 12-month window, and the only catch is your UAE residence permit needs at least six months of validity left.

Why Armenia’s Pushing This Now

Tourism numbers explain the timing. Armenia welcomed 825,384 visitors between January and May this year, a jump of 19.3% compared to last year, according to Gulf News. Extending the waiver is clearly a play to keep that momentum going, especially with GCC travellers who’ve been quietly discovering Yerevan’s café culture and the country’s mountain monasteries. We’d already flagged Armenia as one to watch in our visa-free Eid getaways roundup; this extension just makes the case stronger.

Getting There

Flights from the UAE currently range between AED1,802 and AED2,066 return for mid-July travel, with Air Arabia and flydubai both running routes. Worth keeping an eye on connectivity, though, since previous airspace closures had affected some regional routes this year, similar to what we covered around Dubai airport’s summer rush advisory.

So if Yerevan’s been sitting in your saved folder, this is your sign. Visa-free, mountain views, and cooler weather than back home, hard to beat that combination.
