The Sultanate of Oman is known for its beautiful wadis and the dramatic landscape that draws in people from around the world. And as the nation jumped four places, landing at the 56th spot on the recent ranking by Henley Passport Index in the first half of 2025, it’s worth mentioning that it also offers visa exemption to several countries. But it’s the fact that Omanis get visa-free access to 88 countries that has people rejoicing.

Oman Offers Visa-Free Access To 88 Countries

As revealed in the latest rankings by Henley Passport Index, Oman jumped from its previous ranking of 60th to the current 56th position, which is an improvement of four places. Now its citizens can travel visa-free to 88 countries! Yes, this comes at a time when several destinations, like China and Russia, have also recently announced a visa waiver for Omani citizens. Yes, this was part of a landmark decision, which exempted citizens of Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain from needing a visa to travel to China.

GCC Ranking In The Report

Coming back to the Henley Passport Index, GCC countries on the whole have performed well. Yes, the UAE has ranked at the eighth spot with visa-free access to 184 countries, Qatar has ranked at the 47th position with 112 countries, Kuwait at the 50th position with 100 countries, Saudi Arabia at the 54th position with visa-free access to 91 countries, and Bahrain at the 55th position with visa-free access to 90 countries.

So, with this improvement in the passport rankings for the GCC countries, travelling just became a lot easier.
